Organic Pest Control: DIY Caffeine Spray

organic pest controlToday I made the distressing discovery that my cabbages — the first I’ve ever grown — are completely infested with worms.

They’ve been so busy that I’m not even sure I can save the cabbages. And maybe it’s small of me, but even if I can’t save the cabbages, I am determined to have revenge.

So, I turned to the internet to find a solution.

Now, I’m not sure if this will work on the little . . . cabbage worms (I wanted to say something else), but I’ve got everything I need to make this solution, so I’m giving it a try.

DIY Organic Pest Control or I Will Have Revenge

. . . Gather any or all of the following herbs: yarrow, tansy, pennyroyal, thyme, lavender, rue, catnip and artemisia. Mix at least a cup of this herbal mixture with 2 tablespoons used coffee grounds and 2 cups of water. Allow this to marinate for at least 24 hours before straining and placing into a spray bottle. This can keep for several weeks.

Thanks to Adam Dachis at lifehacker for this recipe. I’m going to mix some up right now.

I’ll keep you posted on my results.
